Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 February 2026
Pageturner is an audiobook player for iOS. We believe a great listening experience includes peace of mind about your data. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how little that is.
The short version
Your audiobooks, library, and listening data stay on your device. We don't have accounts, we don't have servers storing your library, and we don't track what you listen to. Pageturner is designed to be private by default.
What we collect
Pageturner collects only one type of data:
- Crash reports — We use Sentry to collect crash data and performance information. This helps us find and fix bugs. Crash reports include technical information about your device (iOS version, device model) and the error that occurred. They do not include any information about your audiobook library, listening history, or the content sources you use.
That's it. No analytics. No usage tracking. No telemetry.
What we don't collect
- Your audiobook library or what you listen to
- Your listening history, progress, or statistics
- Which content sources you connect
- Any personal information (name, email, location)
- Device identifiers for advertising purposes
Metadata service
Pageturner provides a hosted metadata service that fetches book information (titles, authors, cover art, descriptions) to enrich your library. When you use this service:
- Aggregate search trends are recorded — we track which search terms are popular and how often they're searched. This is used to improve discovery features (e.g. trending books). These are anonymous counts with no connection to individual users or devices.
- No personal information, IP addresses, or device identifiers are collected or stored
- No user profiles are built from metadata requests
Content sources
Pageturner allows you to configure your own content sources. The sources you add and the content you access through them are stored entirely on your device. We have no visibility into what sources you use or what content you download.
Local storage
All app data — your library, bookmarks, listening progress, statistics, playback settings, and downloaded audiobooks — is stored locally on your device. None of this data is transmitted to us or any third party.
Third-party services
The only third-party service we use is:
- Sentry (crash reporting) — Sentry Privacy Policy
Children's privacy
Pageturner does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since we don't collect personal information from anyone, this applies equally to users of all ages.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Since we don't collect email addresses, we can't notify you directly — but our commitment to privacy won't change.
