These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Pageturner application ("App", "Pageturner", "we", "our") for iOS. By downloading, installing, or using Pageturner, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Pageturner is

Pageturner is an audiobook player application. It allows you to:

• Connect your own audiobook content sources
• Download and manage audiobooks on your device
• Play audiobooks with features like chapters, bookmarks, sleep timer, and speed control
• Browse metadata (titles, authors, cover art) through our hosted metadata service

Pageturner is a player and library manager. It does not host, distribute, or provide audiobook content itself.

2. Content sources

Pageturner allows you to configure content sources using JSON configuration files. These sources are added and managed entirely by you.

• You are responsible for the content sources you connect and the content you access through them
• Pageturner does not endorse, verify, or take responsibility for any third-party content sources
• You must ensure that your use of content sources complies with applicable laws and the terms of those services
• We do not monitor, log, or have visibility into which sources you use or what content you download

3. Metadata service

Pageturner provides a hosted metadata service that supplies book information such as titles, authors, descriptions, and cover art. This service:

• Is provided to enhance your library experience
• Aggregates publicly available book metadata
• Records anonymous, aggregate search trends to improve discovery features — no personal information or user profiles are built
• May be modified, updated, or discontinued at any time

4. Your responsibilities

By using Pageturner, you agree to:

• Use the App in compliance with all applicable laws
• Not use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Take responsibility for the content you access and download
• Not attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or redistribute the App
• Not use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our services

5. Intellectual property

The Pageturner application, including its design, code, icons, and branding, is the intellectual property of Pageturner. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Audiobook content accessed through your configured sources is subject to the intellectual property rights of the respective rights holders. Pageturner makes no claims over any third-party content.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

Pageturner is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs
• Any content source you connect will be available or functional
• Metadata provided will be complete or accurate

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pageturner and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

• Your use of, or inability to use, the App
• Any content accessed through sources you configure
• Loss of data stored on your device
• Any third-party services or content sources

8. Third-party content and services

Pageturner may interact with third-party content sources configured by you. We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of any third-party services. Your use of third-party sources is at your own risk and subject to those services' own terms.

9. App Store

Pageturner is distributed through the Apple App Store. Your use of the App is also subject to the Apple Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Apple EULA, Apple's terms shall apply to the extent of the conflict.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using Pageturner at any time by deleting the App from your device. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the App or any features at any time without notice.

12. Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.
